  • Overview

At the Digital Biology Center (a division of Bio-Rad) we use microfluidic chips to generate nanoliter-sized droplets as reaction vessels to power an extremely precise digital nucleic acid measurement method (droplet digital PCR).  Now that we've solidified our market lead in digital PCR, we're expanding into new applications, including highly multiplexed DNA amplification and NGS sample preparation.  We believe our partition technology creating hundreds of thousands of droplets will open up new avenues in basic research and set new paradigms in life science research.

If you’re a staff scientist who truly enjoys balancing bench work and managing a small group of highly motivated and talented scientists; thrives on pushing back the boundaries of the unknown; relishes the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment; and, thrilled by personally taking your ideas from whiteboard to full product release, please read on!

    Responsibilities

    • In close collaboration with Marketing, invent and establish concept feasibility of new products.
    • Develop the physical product specifications and configurations that deliver the optimum product performance.
    • Lead a team that integrates these products with the associated emulsion chemistry and micro-fluidics platforms.
    • Be a Thought Leader for in digital biology emulsion chemistry, their applications, and gain a presence in the field through inventions, product commercialization, presentations and publications.
