Overview

The manager will be responsible for :

  • Efficient and effective operation of Logistics function of India
  • Be an effective liaison point between Sales persons/customers/distributors/AP/Sources Country and the back office
  • Partner with the Customer Service Management team and the Supply Chain Planning Management team in the delivery of excellent customer service through order fulfillment to the customers
  • Ensure that the appropriate structure and required systems are in place to meet the increased demand of the function and Partner with 3rd Party to cover the needs of Bio-Rad in terms of warehousing, distribution & transport, when required. Provide regular Management Reporting and Analysis for the India Operations.
  • Display Leadership that is fair, consistent, caring, engaging and motivating in line with the organisations culture
  • Comprehensive knowledge of warehousing & transportation issues, with solid capability in the logistics arena, background in a strong customer oriented organization where success has been driven by cutting-edge thinking/results

How You’ll Make an Impact

 

Inventory

  • Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the logistics function that includes import, export, the management of the 3PL warehouse and Transportation Companies to meet business objectives
  • Ensure customer orders are processed in a timely and accurate manner and within the regulatory framework adhered to by the company
  • Manage Inventory, Distribution operation and Transportation (Inbound and outbound) for the region
  • Ensure purchasing of inventory and imports are conducted in accordance with Company guidelines and to agreed service levels
  • Ensure performance levels for delivery of products are maintained at the highest level
  • Manage third party logistics service provider performance.Manage stock-takes in accordance to Company requirements with minimal stock write off.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of physical inventory.Monitor and adhere to SOX guidelines relating to the customer masters, logistic, vendor management and inventories
  • Ensure compliance to local agency’s guideline and regulatory and ensure smooth audit process, maintain and renew the proper licenses.

Warehouse Operations

  • Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy and compliant with Bio-Rad SOP’s. Select appropriate method of transport with regard to correct shipping conditions, freight costs and customer delivery requirements.
  • Maintain the warehouse in a cost effective manner and within any predefined budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure sufficient human and physical resources are available to achieve operational objectives.
  • Other responsibilities assigned by the Supply Chain Manager outside the normal duties.

Customer Service - Work closely with sales and customer service staff to meet purchasing and delivery requirement of customers, measure and report on performance. Ensure that stock receipts and inventory adjustment are completed on time and accurately.

 

Organizational Talent - Select, on board, manage, review performance and take appropriate action discipline and terminate staff, in conjunction .

Ensure company policies and guidelines are implemented. Ensure all staff meets predefined goals.Ensure effective communications are maintained within the team and externally. Conduct team meetings at regular intervals.

Workplace Health & Safety - Ensure a safe working environment for all staff and safe handling of all Dangerous Goods and Hazardous products. Ensure safe handling of all dangerous goods and hazardous products. Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available to cover all eventualities. Participate as a representative of the WH&S committee.

Quality Control - Ensure compliance to the QA manual and processes. Comply with relevant codes, quality control as well as the Bio-Rad quality manual to ensure correct dispatch and receiving procedures are adhered to. Create and maintain procedures and work instructions appropriate to carrying out warehouse, inventory and purchasing tasks. Ensure all staff are trained in current procedures and work instructions and that training is updated and recorded.

 

Purchasing

Manage the purchasing function to meet company objectives with appropriate inventory stockholding to minimize backorders and DSI. Ensure suppliers are monitored and assessed according to procedures.

 

Management Reporting 

Implement, monitor and manage key performance indicators for the Pacific operations. Provide weekly and monthly reports and statistics on operational performance and inventory for operational analysis.

 

What You Bring: 

 

  • Degree in Science, Engineering or Supply Chain
  • 10-12 years’ experience managing multi-site logistics operations using ERP systems
  • 3-5 years’ experience managing a team of direct reports
  • Logistics, Transport, Distribution and Purchasing experience.
  • Cold-Chain experience & in the field of Life Science / Healthcare
  • 3PL management & outsourcing experience will be added advantage
  • Good supervisory, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Possess an analytical mind.Ability to lead, initiate and drive effectively business improvement, changes and efficiencies. Able to work efficiently with cross functional teams and people at different levels in a matrix organization.Highly customer service oriented. Understand the interfaces of customer service and distribution activities with Sales and Marketing areas.
