Overview

You will oversee and manages projects and serves as liaison between Cross functional team members in GSC (Procurement, Logistics, Manufacturing and Supply Planning) and other Groups (GCO, IT, RA/QA, CDG, LSG) and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, client-satisfaction goals, and continuous improvement and strategic initiative project goals. This Project Manager is a member of the Global Supply Chain PMO team.

 

  • Experienced with leading projects of moderate scope.
  • Manages initiation, planning, execution, and close of projects.
  • Delivers complete projects on time, on budget, and within the specifications.
  • Works with the sponsor(s) from the department(s) served by the project to resolve issues requiring their support.
  • Identifies areas of risk, monitors them throughout the project, and reports to customer group(s).
  • Reports project progress to stakeholders, including management review committee.
  • Reviews project proposal/plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources to each phase of project.
  • Works with management team(s) of the department(s) to create project charter/scope document.
  • Manages the development of project teams including teambuilding, motivating, etc.
  • Establishes and updates project plans and project documentation.
  • Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.
  • Works with manager or senior project managers to create and present capital acquisition plans.
  • Trains others on project methodology and tools.
  • 0-20% travel.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

 

Project Management of projects coordinating between the Bio-Rad Functional teams, including not limited to GSC functions, Global Commercial, Finance/Tax, HR, RA/QA, Mariposa/IT, Legal, Corporate Compliance. This includes,

  • Project Management: Managing complex projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordination and Communication: Coordinating with multiple teams and functions to achieve strategic goals, managing dependencies, removing obstacles, and ensuring clear communication across all stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Decision-Making: Leading project review meetings, facilitating decision-making processes, and enforcing project scope limitations to keep projects on schedule.
  • Conflict Resolution: Mediating and resolving disagreements between team members to support project managers in maintaining a cohesive team environment.
  • Skills Required: Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, diplomatic mediation, problem-solving abilities, good judgment, time management, organizational skills, and the ability to build effective partnerships with non-co-located teams.
  • Transparency and Creativity: Delivering communication with transparency and visibility, and demonstrating creativity in finding solutions by looking within, across, and outside the organization.

In essence, the ideal candidate for this position should possess strong project management skills, effective communication abilities, leadership qualities, conflict resolution proficiency, and a creative problem-solving approach. You should also excel in coordinating and managing complex projects while fostering collaboration among various teams and functions within the organization.

  • Report generation for Project Governance, as well as data analysis of current developments related to the Projects the individual is assigned to and impact on Bio-Rad.
  • Personal development and coaching of other Non-PM staff to the practices of Project Management

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant technology.
  • 5+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. (desirable: experience in Medical Diagnostics, Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical industries)
  • Project management training and certification (e.g., PMP) preferred.
  • Lean and Six Sigma certification desired
  • Proven track record of the ability to effectively lead and motivate others towards a given objective. Inspires enthusiasm, confidence and respect from subordinates and peers.
  • Team Player/ Flexible/ Accurate and quality minded / Trustful and Sincere person/ Open minded.
  • Proficient ability to learn new systems (SAP desired)
  • Demonstrates practical creativity by offering process improvements, solving complex problems, and troubleshooting.
  • Exhibits strong business acumen and advanced analytical skills.
  • Attention to Detail – meticulous focus on costs, budgets, and cash flow models.
  • General knowledge of industry practices and company policies and procedures.
  • Good analytical skills including data collection and synthesis.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio, and Project software.
  • Proficient in standard project management tools (e.g., work breakdown structures, Gantt charts, critical path analysis) to document and communicate project plans.
  • Able to deal with moderate to high levels of uncertainty.
  • Able to facilitate conflict resolution.
