Overview

The Junior Financial Analyst is expected to drive and ensure a rigorous financial controls environment in the inventory related area (Inventory, freight, logistics, planning, supply assurance). The colleague ensures the accuracy and reporting on inventory balances, inventory costs performance (e.g. E&O reserve, cycle count differences, scrap) as well as for logistic, freight and planning costs. The role also involves preparing forward-looking analyses to help with the decision making process in the inventory related area.

 

How You'll make an impact:

 

Inventory Controlling activities:

  • Ensure accuracy of the financial reported inventory numbers for the EMEA designated entities (manufacturing plants, distribution centers, LRDs), including abroad locations of the EHQ (finished goods, raw materials, semi-finished goods, WIP – tangentially)
  • Ensure accuracy of the financial reported logistic, freight and planning numbers for the EMEA designated entities (manufacturing plants, distribution centers, LRDs)
  • Acting like a Business Partner for finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Monitors and ensure accuracy of the inventory impact resulting from the reagent rental process;
  • Continuously monitor performance in order to identify improvement potential for inventory costs (E&O reserve, scrap, cycle counts), logistic costs, (freight, warehousing, fixed costs...) and PPVs in the EMEA perimeter
  • Month end activities: prepare journals, reporting and reconciliations as needed
  • Ensure compliance with the SOX controls in the inventory area ; support audit request
  • KPI calculation and analysis
  • Partner with regional Planning, Logistic and Procurement teams
  • Monitor actual performance vs plan / target
  • Forward looking analysis and other ad hoc analysis to drive decision making

 

Budget, forecast:

  • Work with the business partners and GSC FP&A team to define assumptions
  • Prepare systems and supporting calculations, and reporting of the Forecast/Plan data
  • Review Forecast/Plan data with EMEA Inventory Controller for the inventory related area.
  • Participate in special requests and projects if needed

 

What You'll bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, prferably in Finance, Economics
  • Ability to synthetize important information and understand end to end processes
  • Good communication skills – able to act like a trusted Business Partner, clearly communicate with finance and non-finance colleagues about the results and implications of prepared analysis
  • Excellent analytical skills – patience and determination to prepare reports and analyze data in detail, to get to the root cause of issues
  • Excellent command of English
  • Good understanding of financial processes and financial statements
  • Ideally 1 year of experience (or internship experience) in finance, preferably in a multinational environment
  • Experience with ERP system, preferably SAP
