Overview

A Snapshot of Your Day 

As Lead Instrument Control Software Engineer on the Curiosity Diagnostics team, you will take a central role in developing a framework that enables the effective operation of a new advanced medical device.  You will lead technical efforts across the design, implementation, and optimization phases, ensuring that the systems meet both regulatory standards and operational requirements. You will also be involved in troubleshooting complex hardware-software interactions and implementing improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.

 

A key aspect of your role will be actively contributing to the coding effort, where you will develop and optimize software that controls and monitors critical instrument functions. You will be hands-on in writing high-quality, efficient code, conducting code reviews, and ensuring that software components are robust, scalable, and maintainable.

 

Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of R&D engineers, product owners, quality assurance specialists, and other stakeholders, you will guide collaborative efforts throughout the entire software lifecycle, including architectural design, performance analysis, and validation processes.

What You Bring

While this list of qualifications may help an employee to succeed in this position, capable candidates may have a wide range of backgrounds or skills. If you have experience that aligns with the responsibilities of this role, we encourage you to apply! 

  • 8+ years of experience in C++ development, with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or principal engineering role,
  • Deep understanding of C++ (C++11/14/17/20), STL, and modern C++ practices, including memory management, multithreading, and performance optimization,
  • Proven experience in designing high-performance, and scalable architectures,
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns,
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and debug challenging issues,
  • Experience leading engineering teams, providing mentorship, and influencing technical direction,
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders,
  • Experience with Yocto Project and embedded Linux environments is a plus,
  • Experience with C# is a plus.
