The primary purpose of the Field Applications Specialist is to support LSG sales, marketing and operations teams in pre-sales presentations, demonstrations and post-sales support to SEA distributors and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
Commercial Activities :
- Support the business of Bio-Rad’s LSG portfolio (instrument & reagents).
- Support sales team by providing pre-sales and post-sales technical activities to achieve SEA LSG revenue targets.
- Facilitate & support lead qualification and conversion of identified sales opportunities.
- Provide training and product support materials for Channel Partner and Direct Sales.
- Plan, manage and execute mid to large-sized sales initiative projects as required.
Technical Support and Training :
- Provide application support with SEA FAS Team to customers and channel partners in all stages of the sales process.
- Support Account Managers, Technical Sales Specialist and Product Managers on-field to conduct pre-sales demonstration and after-sales product application training.
- Present and discuss principles, applications and instruments to internal/external customers and hold in-depth conversations on experimental design and feasibility.
- Resolve complicated application issues resulting from customer usage or demonstration equipment and assist Customers, FSE and AMs to maintain customer satisfaction and sales opportunities in a professional manner.
- Develop training modules to increase competencies of internal and external customers to align with business direction.
- Plan and conduct relevant technical and product training for Sales and Channel Partners to increase enablement.
Customer Focus :
- Manage customer expectations in pre-sales opportunities and handle customers throughout pre-sales experience with stakeholders seamlessly.
- Conduct pre-sales demonstrations and provide feedback on further needs at customer site as part of the sales process and ensures the evaluation meets customer and business needs.
- Work with supporting functions within the organization to address customer’s applications concerns.
- Ensure support on regulatory requirements and manage customer complaints
Administration :
- Maintain technical and training files/procedures in relevant areas of responsibility.
- Ensure all demonstration units for application training are properly accounted for.
- Work with CTS to ensure all troubleshooting cases are recorded and filed appropriately.
- Conduct system installations and training and ensure all documents signed and accounted for sales recognition.
- Maintain daily activities record in customer relationship management ServiceMax in SFDC.
- Track and maintain activities and inventory in the SEA Training Lab
Self-Development :
- Implement Performance Management Plan and Individual Development Plan.
- Building specific soft skills and product competencies as required
- Maintain role as mentor and advisor to SEA FASs (cross-training, sharing information etc)
What You Bring:
- Bachelor Degree or Higher Degree in Life Science, Biotechnology, Biomedical , preferable in Biotechnology, Applied Biology, Biology or equivalent
- More than 6 years working experience in R&D, Biopharma, Microbiology, Applied Sciences, Biotechnology, genomics or proteomics related industry.
- Experienced in Molecular diagnostics, genomics, flow and/or chromatography.
- Experienced in designing experiments and carrying them out, improving design through logic.
- Experienced in knowledge transfer and training a plus.
- Experienced in field installations and training a plus.
- Minimum 3-4 year as field support/application/trainer position commercially highly preferred
- Experience at building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Proven track record of customer satisfaction in a technical support environment.
