    Bio-Rad is looking for a Blood Bank Specialist


    • Work collaboratively with the Immunohematology Account Executives and Account Managers to grow sales, support instrument base and address ongoing customer needs in the Western United States.
    • Work cross functionally with internal colleagues on the technical, IDN, and customer service staffs to provide best in class sales experience and support.
    • Available for LEAN workflow consultations, Instrument evaluation and customer site audits as needed.
    • Provide technical insights as a Subject Material Expert (SME) for both automation and reagent performance and integration.
    • Provide technical presentations on Bio-Rad products (traditional reagents and automation) during the sales process in collaboration with Account Executives, Account Managers, Regional Managers and National Account Managers; the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into customer benefits is crucial.
    • Identify and cultivate regional KOLs and references for Bio-Rad IHD products.
    • Present (or schedule KOLs to present) at relevant conferences and industry meetings.
    • Prepare or work with KOLs to prepare abstracts, posters and papers relevant to Bio-Rad products.
    • As a subject matter expert in the use of Bio-Rad IHD products and in blood bank industry topics, you may be called upon to speak at conferences or relevant industry/interest group meetings.
    • Serves as a scientific expert at key medical and scientific conferences, advisory boards, and internal meetings.
    • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales Management to identify immunohematology market opportunities, market needs and the completive environment; develop innovative strategies to address.


    • Bachelor's degree required, MT (ASCP) required.
    • SBB (ASCP) strongly preferred.
    • Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.
    • Must have a minimum of three-five years blood banking experience, preferably in a leadership position in a hospital transfusion service with automation.
    • Should have experience preparing and delivering professional presentations and scientific papers/posters.
    • Should have experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, with practical working knowledge of MS Office programs.
    • Must have extensive knowledge of blood bank methods, trends, suppliers and issues.
    • Must have the ability to influence and impact without authority.
    • Should have strong time management and project management skills.
    • Ability to travel 70% of the time.
    • This position must be within a reasonable distance of a major airport in the Western Region of the United States and be willing to travel within that region.
