    The HR Communications Specialist (Employee Communications Writer) role is responsible for development, establishment, execution, and continuous improvement of Bio-Rad's Global Human Resources (HR) communication strategies, for both digital and printed media.

     

    Her/his remit will focus on creating an employee-centric understanding of HR-related systems and programs (e.g. SuccessFactors HRIS, benefits packages, learning and development, employee onboarding, recruitment, etc.) in partnership with relevant Global HR Teams and stakeholders.

    Responsibilities

    • Execute and contribute to the development of the HR-related global communication strategy, and communication plan, working closely with the various HR departments to develop, review and approve employee-friendly communication materials for clarity and usability and to ensure accurate content and messaging.
    • Collaborate with various HR teams such as Learning & Development, Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs), HR Services, and HR Systems project teams to analyze and develop stakeholder groups’ communications and determine optimal global delivery channels.
    • Develop and manage collaboration for HR-driven online properties such as the HR Portal, SAP JAM, Google sites, etc.
    • Assess HR communication needs, define goals and engage partners to design integrated communications plans and craft deliverables quickly.
    • Evaluate existing content and communication experiences.
    • Measure efficacy of communication channels and employee responses, record and monitor metrics, and provide feedback and insights to Global HR staff.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree (Major in Communications, Business Administration or Marketing preferred.)
    • Three (3) or more years’ experience in Human Resources (or applicable experience) a plus.
    • Five (5) or more years’ experience developing and executing a communications strategy within corporate communications environments.
    • Prior experience using various communications vehicles (digital and traditional) and solid understanding of communications processes, culture, and stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to convey a strong value proposition and engage multiple audiences -- journalistic or marketing experience is highly beneficial
    • Previous experience on project teams with a proven ability to work under time constraints while meeting critical milestones.
    • Knowledge of communication domain; superb written and verbal communication skills, strong editing, proofreading, layout and basic design required.
    • Ability to interpret and follow corporate guidelines and group strategies.
    • Detail-oriented, able to manage detailed project and communications plans; good project management skills including task, activity, and milestone planning and tracking.
    • Ability to work within and across multiple work streams, across all organizational levels and across geographically dispersed regions and divisions.
    • Ability to operate effectively in a "matrixed" organization.
    • Forward-looking, creative, assertive and influential to push through approvals.
    • Strong knowledge of digital communications tools, including email, social media, digital video, online survey tools, groups, etc.
    • Skilled with creation tools: PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Google G-Suite, Captivate, etc.
    • Excellent organizational, leadership skills.
