    As part of the HR Services team, the Benefits Analyst will support all aspects of the U.S. Benefits and HR Services.  This individual will provide hands-on support in the design, development and administration of Bio-Rad’s U.S. benefits, and support of the HR Services team.

     

    The group benefit programs include medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, business travel accident insurance, flexible spending plans, 401(k) plan and more.  He / she will support in the plans and implementation of corporate benefit programs, policies and procedures, wellness, and other campaigns as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    Benefits Shared Services:

    • Assists in benefits program planning; co-lead annual Open Enrollment process from pre-planning to completion --including auditing, running reports, oversight and review of employee communications.
    • Contributes to development of new benefit programs implementation and management.
    • Conducts benefits overview at New Hire Orientation and during onboarding of newly hired employees of mergers/acquisitions.
    • Educates employees on our plans; responds to questions and inquiries.
    • Oversees benefits processing for new hires and qualified life events.
    • Liaison between employee and vendor to handle enrollment and/or claim issues.
    • Leads small to medium size projects as applicable (such as Dependent Audits.)
    • Stays current on ACA regulations to ensure compliance.
    • Works under broad direction of the HR Services Manager; performs other duties as assigned.

    HR Systems and Technology:

    • Provide administrative and technical support for the on-going management of the SuccessFactors HCM system, Employee Central, the Workterra benefits system and other HR related systems and integrations.
    • Become knowledgeable on Employee Central processes and workflows.
    • Manage the vendor relationship with Workterra to implement system improvements.
    • Work with functional team to develop business requirements to support system improvements and meet user needs.
    • Partner with IT to assist in their support of integrations from HR systems to other internal and external systems.
    • Execute test plans, including system integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
    • Maintain data integrity of HR Systems and seek to improve data capture and retrieval processes.
    • Document and communicate process improvements.
    • Participate as team member on small and/or large projects.
    • Serve as back-up for Employee Central System Admin.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or combination of education and experience
    • 5+ years Benefits experience
    • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, compliance, COBRA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, HIPAA, and Workers’ Compensation.
    • Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving and detail orientation  skills.
    • Ability to take initiative, effective at prioritizing multiple projects, comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
    • Proficient computer skills: MS Office Suite, SuccessFactors, Employee Central,  Workterra, desired
    • Travel within the U.S. 1-2 times per year.
