    Bio-Rad is looking for a Controls Compliance Specialist.

    Responsibilities

    • This position will report to the Controls Compliance Manager in the Corporate Controller's group.
    • Work across the Americas' Region to help design, document, and monitor and improve internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR).
    • Work collaboratively with the Managers and Process Owners, North America's Finance Shared Services Center (FSSC) organization, Global Commercial Organization (GCO) and Global Supply Chain (GSC) to timely remediate findings.
    • Perform spot checks of ICOFR self-assessments using data analytics (ACL, Concur, etc.), performing sample-based reviews of control documentation for early indicators of any issues.
    • Escalate any process improvement findings to management and prepare next steps, as appropriate.
    • Aid in design and documentation of process improvements (for effectiveness, efficiency, automation, global consistency) and new ICOFR.
    • Confirm process owners' remediation of internal control deficiencies before it is audited by Internal or External Audit by reviewing evidence.
    • Take an active role in ensuring that all changes to financial system (SAP, HFM and any other financial applications) are properly tested by users both pre-change in QA and post-change in Production and have appropriate controls in place and documented.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Advanced degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is preferred.
    • Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant a strong plus.
    • 5+ years’ experience in a compliance, auditing, or finance role at a regulated company, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Must have large ERP system experience.
    • Exposure to a shared services center environment a strong plus.
    • International experience a strong plus.
    • Knowledge of the U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, ICOFR, U.S. Federal Sentencing Guidelines, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, ethics and compliance best practices.
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis, interpersonal oral/written communication, problem solving and project management skills.
    • Able to work independently, define challenges, collect statistical data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Adept at creation of statistical reports and self-assessment tools, such as data analytics, that establish trends and identify areas of potential non-compliance.
    • Knowledge of SAP, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and TeamMate a plus.
    • Fluent (both orally and in writing) in English.
