  • Overview

    This position works on complex projects of broad scope that require in-depth and broader understanding of problem identification, analysis and resolution.


    • S-CAPA System Management : Maintain the S-CAPA system in Quality Notifications. Complete reports to track closure and on time status with escalation.  Help buyers initiate for repeat rejections and supplier caused line down issues for various sites.
    • Supplier Audits: Plan, execute, and document Supplier Audit for Instrument and Chemical suppliers in support of the Global Supplier Audit Program (GSAP). Collaborate with various stake-holders (Site Buyers and MFG Engineering, Global Commodity Management, R&D Engineering, and other peer stake-holders) to understand the suppliers, commodity, and other issues and concerns. Improve Audit Work Instruction and related-documents through collaboration on knowledge of industry best practices. The goal is to implement continuous improvement in the Supplier Audit process.
    • Supply Chain MFG Site Quality monthly meetings and reporting: Develop and maintain monthly MFG Site Quality performance, specific to our Supply Base, specifically, the tracking of Supplier problems, NCMs, S-CAPA, and other related-actions such as Problem Shelf and actions for buyers.  Participation and engagement, including direct management of these monthly meetings, in partnership with Site Quality management, site management, material management and Site Supply Assurance.  Overall review, status, and work on improvement processes are common goals, including the review and action-plan development of supplier issues that cause line failures, re-work, excess & obsolescence, increased cost of quality (COQ), and other negative situations.  


    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical).
    • ASQ CQE, ASQ CQA, or ISO 13485 Lead Auditor Certification preferred.
    • CQE and/or CQA certification desirable.
    • 5+ years’ experience in an engineering, quality assurance and/or manufacturing supplier quality environment including audits and long term corrective action implementation
    • Lean Six Sigma training and certification preferred.
    • Expert verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with internal customers and suppliers, and to develop and present communication plans and strategies in cross functional meetings and to management team members.
    • Expert skills in quality tools; i.e. supplier assessments, First Article Inspections (FAI), Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), 8D Problem Solving, Root-Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, Mistake Proofing and Process Control
    • Expert interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem solving, and time management skills.
    • Ability to take complex technical information and convey it to various levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner.
    • Ability to perform complex statistical reporting, including strong skills in composing logical, detailed, and analytical reports.
