    Bio-Rad is looking for a Master Maintenance Technician.


    This is a full time maintenance mechanic position Monday to Friday day shift that performs maintenance, calibration and service repairs on facilities and equipment used in production and/or manufacturing processes and/or facilities. 


    This position will reside at the 2500 Atlas facility with primary responsibility for this location including but not limited to specified maintenance, operations and vendor/Service Contract oversight/management.


    • Perform and oversee maintenance, and repair of equipment & assets at a distribution center at regulated (GMP & ISO) site.
    • Prevent equipment failure, and perform condition monitoring for critical equipment.
    • Maintain refrigeration, conveyors, material handling equip., critical utilities, and other distribution center equipment.
    • Operate and maintain Facility Monitoring System and Computerized Maintenance System.
    • Create & maintain GMP documentation for facility and maintenance operations. Perform GMP review of documentation.
    • Generate Failure Prevention Scorecards.
    • Ensure facility and maintenance operations operate within established procedures and regulatory requirements.
    • Oversee work of contractors and service vendors.
    • New equipment installation & equipment modifications.
    • Meet safety requirements for facility, maintenance, and equipment.
    • Respond to facilities equipment alarms.
    • Perform other maintenance services to support distribution center operations.
    • Provide input into the development of technical documentation including, but not limited to: Manufacturing equipment and process system User Requirements (URS), Operation Descriptions (SOD), Preventive Maintenance Procedures (PM), Automated Functional Requirements (AFR), and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID).
    • Assure safe, timely and high quality execution, with proper documentation, of all assigned maintenance activities.
    • Contribute to the identification and procurement of appropriate test, service, and safety equipment, as well as spare parts and materials for proper maintenance, operation and cleaning for all manufacturing equipment and process systems.
    • Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, and various quality organizations as necessary to minimize Manufacturing impact and ensure equipment availability.


    • High School diploma required.
    • Journeyman level maintenance craft trade skills (be able to demonstrate education or equivalent training & experience).
    • Preferred education: Trade school diploma, craft trades certifications, or military training in maintenance craft skills.
    • Preferred education (continued): Refrigeration journeyman level training (or equivalent experience) & EPA refrigeration license.
    • Ability to determine root causes of failures and perform preventive actions.
    • Proficiency to perform maintenance activities that meet GMP requirements.
    • Proficiency creating and reviewing GMP documentation.
    • Interact with service vendors to ensure service requirements are met.
    • Ability to work weekends and extended shifts as required.
    • Ability to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Drawings.
    • Basic computer skills, with the ability to utilize programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as email.
    • Ability to achieve results with minimum supervision.
    • Ability to work in a regulated environment; cGMP, ISO, OSHA, etc.
    • Ability to perform a variety of mechanical, electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
    • Working knowledge of CMMS, BMS/BAS systems.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
    • 4+ years in an industrial maintenance or operation environment is required.
    • Minimum 3 years GMP maintenance at an FDA or ISO regulated site.
    • Prior experience sourcing and acquiring parts, supplies, and maintenance services.
    • Prior experience overseeing work of contractors and service vendors.
    • Preferred experience: Minimum 4 years refrigeration & HVAC maintenance experience.
    • Preferred experience: Prior experience operating Computerized Maintenance systems, Facility Monitoring Systems, and Building Automation systems.
