    Bio-Rad is looking for a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer.

    Responsibilities

    • Supports project/program activities by performing work with an engineering specialty which involves various types of research, investigations, analysis and interpretation of data.
    • Seek out and solve problems affecting the performance of the manufacturing groups (Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost).
    • Will interact with R&D, production personnel and internal/external suppliers to introduce new products as well as support existing.
    • Works with supply chain to improve quality from vendors.
    • Works with R&D sustaining engineering team to proactively resolve any manufacturing issues.
    • May represent the company with customers and suppliers in resolving technical issues.
    • May provide leadership and participate in the training of lower level personnel.
    • May assist in product transfers to lower cost regions.
    • Knowledge of troubleshooting Electro-Mechanical issues and to provide solutions using problem solving techniques.
    • Evaluate non-conforming materials and conduct evaluation and suggest and implement methods to prevent re-occurrence.
    • Conducts engineering evaluation activity to minimize QN(nonconforming materials)
    • Review engineering design files for technical issues that may arise at contract manufacturers or advise suppliers.
    • Design or justify new equipment (fixtures, gauges, semi-automatic machines, automatic machines, etc.) and processes for new and existing products.
    • Conduct process verifications and capability studies.
    • Establish routing and process standards for new and existing product.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in electromechanical assembly or diagnostic equipment.
    • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
    • Design for Manufacturing, ISO-13485 IQ/OQ/PQ experience preferred.
    • Good working knowledge of machine/part design principals and corresponding manufacturing processes.
    • Experienced in production line setup and IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities.
    • Knowledge of troubleshooting Electro-Mechanical issues and to provide solutions using problem solving techniques.
