  • Overview

    This position reports to the GSC Controller,Global Manufacturing.  Business Partner for Irvine Manufacturing and Logistics, providing analysis of Manufacturing performance for the site, including establishing KPI calculations and monthly reporting.  Responsible for inventory valuation and control (e.g) cycle count validation and documentation) for Irvine plants.  For the site, lead the preparation of Budget, Forecast and mid-term planning (MTP) for Irvine Manufacturing.  Lead/support key projects as needed.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Lead all aspects of financial analysis for the sites - design and development models that can help to drive change and improvement in product costs
    • Create and maintain spend budgets for manufacturing departments
    • Identify and ensure adequate controls and reporting for inventory, gross margin reporting, including standard and costs and all period costs and variances: warranty reserves, absorption, excess and obsolete material costs and reserves, scrapped material, and purchase price variances
    • Ensure compliance and integrity with company Internal Control policies and SOX documentation
    • Participate in the month end close process, preparing journal entries related to inventory, cost of sales and operating adjustments, reconciliations and month end reporting
    • Provide close partnership and drive financial analytics with the Plant Manager - implement, drive, recommend and improve financial reporting processes
    • Use critical thinking and analysis skills, serve as a change agent and provide ideas and tangible recommendations on ways to increase productivity
    • Lead all aspects of financial analysis for the sites - design and development models that can help to drive change and improvement in product costs
    • Lead a variety of tasks including analyzing operational changes, reconciling productivity, and assisting in capital management projects and processes
    • Lead plant monthly close processes, cost reviews and prepare manufacturing variance forecasts
    • Assist on special projects across Grace Operations to improve overall plant performance
    • Work with manufacturing operations to develop and maintain standard costs in association with Bills of Materials (BOMs)

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA or CMA
    • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience
    • Ability to effectively communicate at various organizational levels
    • 8+ years experience in cost accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience with large ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) is a must, including Inventory and GL modules. Knowledge of SAP/Oracle is a big plus
    • Ability to work in cross-functional and remote teams
    • Strong technical skills including knowledge of GAAP and sound understanding of financial statement mechanics
    • Ability to understand issues, demonstrate resourcefulness and pro-actively resolve problems and manage multiple projects in a timely manner
    • Multi-Tasking: Able to work on multiple priorities at the same time. Works effectively cross functionally within the organization
