  • Overview

    What you'll be doing:

     

    • Development and delivery of reference architectures that will be used across Bio-Rad QSD to enable a standardized cloud solution.
    • Develop and maintain strategic architectural view
    • Develop and maintain tactical architectural plan
    • Work with Bio-Rad QSD Leadership to understand the Divisions Business strategy and architect cloud services to enable the business to execute on the strategy
    • Work with Bio-Rad Global IT to understand the Global Business strategy and align cloud services with overall Eco-System, as possible.
    • Develop a reporting and analytic architecture to meet business needs. This includes working collaboratively with Global IT to ensure overall strategy is scalable and extensible in the Bio-Rad ecosystem
    • Establish a secure architecture, accounting for cyber security breaches. Participate with the Global Bio-Rad Security Strategy
    • Hands-on, technical leadership for Cloud solutions (end-to-end application design, IaaS, PaaS).
    • Formation of automated, deployable cloud templates to accelerate project deliveries.
    • Articulation of platform-level designs to incrementally build cloud application suites over time.
    • Develop best practices around securing and leveraging cloud services.
    • Provide usable guidelines and procedures that can be adopted by multiple teams.
    • Facilitate in-depth technical discussions to select cloud services and carry forward into design and deployment.
    • Assist development teams with technical obstacles and problems.
    • Engage with cloud providers as needed.
    • Recommend cost-effective strategies to migrate existing workloads to cloud.
    • Balance standardized solution recommendations with business unit requirements.
    • Ability to explain constraints, limitations, and best practices to leverage cloud PaaS offerings.
    • Communicate complex technical choices and trade-offs in easy to understand, business-friendly language

    Responsibilities

    What you will need for this role:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree required in computer science or a related technology discipline.
    • 10+ years of experience in enterprise application development and solution architecture.
    • Architecture certification from either Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
    • Work experience in the Life Sciences, Medical Devices, or Biotechnology industry.
    • Deep expertise in formulating secure, cloud-native architectures for customer-facing applications that are enterprise grade and highly scalable.
    • Prior experience in developing cloud architectures for: Data Ingestion, Big Data, IoT, Monitoring, Logging, DR, Archiving & Backup, Mobile, Performance Analytics.
    • Hands-on development of security and compliance architectures for cloud applications (FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, HIPAA, GDPR).
    • Significant experience with Cloud Security: Data Protection, Identity and Access Management, Public Key Infrastructure, Infrastructure Protection.
    • Fundamental understanding of modern cloud infrastructure capabilities (Compute, Storage, Networking, Containerization). Prior hands on application development experience desired
    • Prior hands-on application development experience desired.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with various teams on defining the solution set that meets their vision.
    • Experience with Automation Deployment and Automation Pipeline. Experience in Agile and DevOps environments and cultures.
