    Bio-Rad is looking for a Production Supervisor II. 


    This position supervises front-line employees in a chemical/reagent manufacturing or instrument assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work to direct labor personnel, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions within established delivery, quality, compliance, safety, budget and cost standards.


    The Production Supervisor will also oversee the production of PCR products, ensuring company goals and objectives are met.  The position will work closely with Quality, Planning, R&D and Process Development.


    • Manages a large production team of assemblers, manufacturing associates, technicians and/or chemists.
    • Supervises day to day PCR production; schedules, assigns, and manage the activities of team members.
    • Capable of handling assigned role independently and with a minimum of supervision.
    • Manages a large team, 10-15 manufacturing associates or a team comprised of degreed chemists/biologists.
    • Provide specialized training.
    • Identifies root cause of problems, determines and implements corrective action.
    • Identifies and implements cost and quality improvement and workflow optimization.
    • Creates budgets incorporating the planned purchase of capital equipment.
    • Participates in annual standard cost review.
    • Plans and implements Lean manufacturing and related concepts.
    • Identifies, documents and obtains approval for process changes and improvements.
    • Called upon to lead special project teams.


    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an engineering, chemistry and/or biology or related field.
    • 7+ years manufacturing production experience, preferably in a regulated environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 5+ years of supervisory experience.
    • Based on function, a solid knowledge of certain compliance issues, e.g., FDA, GMP, ISO, etc.
    • Advanced knowledge of production techniques, processes and concepts.
    • Knowledge of applicable equipment, systems, and compliance (e.g., FDA, GMP, etc.)
    • Ability to manage multiple projects.
    • Relevant certifications or training a plus.
    • Experienced with the introduction of new products, process scale up and the transfer of products to other manufacturing locations.
    • Thorough understanding of quality systems as they relate to production operations.
