    Bio-Rad is looking for a Tax Accountant III.

    Responsibilities

    • Working independently on preparation of the more complex aspects of the US Federal consolidated returns and state income tax returns and provides guidance to others working on tax compliance.
    • Researching tax issues and positions and preparing recommendations appropriate for our structure based on judgement and experience.
    • Preparing memos and other required documentation supporting positions taken returns and analyzing contrary positions as necessary to identify risk areas for purposes of FIN 48 and other reserves.
    • Preparation and/or review of quarterly estimated payments and extensions.
    • Preparation and/or review tax calculations required for the tax provision and quarterly ETR analyses.
    • Preparation and/or review of US filings required for foreign subsidiaries.
    • Review annual reports and other informational filings.
    • Preparation and/or review information required for federal and state tax audits.
    • Handling various aspects of sales and use tax for all states and multiple local tax jurisdictions and Puerto Rico.
    • Work directly with local government auditors on all aspects of handling tax audits and tax notices and providing information to business partners as it related to our vendors and customers.

    Qualifications

    • BS in Accounting or other business degree with emphasis in accounting.
    • 5 years of experience in accounting, at least 3 years in tax.
    • Public accounting experience including experience in both audit and tax preferred.
    • Corporate consolidated return experience and comprehensive knowledge of tax law required.
    • Corporate tax experience with companies that have foreign subsidiaries strongly preferred.
    • Some sales and use tax experience preferred but we will also provide training in this area.
    • Strong computer and analytical skills required.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
    • Must have strong organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
    • This position has to deal with numerous deadlines and must be able to prioritize tasks and projects.
    • The individual must have a flexible but organized working style as it may be necessary to change the prioritization of projects midstream.
