    Bio-Rad is looking for a Field Application Specialist.


    • The Field Application Specialists(FAS) works in designated sales territory (Western United States) to achieve annual sales growth targets and ensure customer satisfaction.
    • The FAS duties are primarily for the Bio-Rad BioPlex 2200 platform, which is sold to hospitals, reference laboratories, clinics, and government laboratories.
    • Primary duties include selling innumochemistry assays and maximizing customer menu use by:
    • Installing and running all studies necessary for a successful diagnostic instrument installation and verifying assays are performed per instruction manuals.
    • Training laboratory personnel to properly running the instrument.
    • Other responsibilities include:
    • Acting as an instrument expert for assigned territory Account Managers and capital sales personnel (Account Executives).
    • Working closely with Account Executives to ensure reagent revenue growth targets for assigned territory are achieved.
    • Providing sales presentations and clinical presentations to lab personnel, pathologists, administrators and executives.
    • Maintaining information and knowledge of competitors and their products.
    • Developing, qualifying and following through on sales leads from Account Managers, Account Executives, trade shows, Sales Managers, Marketing personnel, and Field Service personnel.
    • Assisting in training Account Managers and Account Executives as needed on instrumentation, assays and customers' environment.
    • Maintaining accurate customer information within Salesforce.com (SFDC) and submitting appropriate service reports, expense reports, forecasts in assigned time frame.
    • Substantial overnight travel is required.


    • Bachelors of Science in a clinical diagnostics, life science, technical related discipline or equivalent is required. Masters in Science or MBA preferred.
    • Minimum of 5+ years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience of successful laboratory experience in hospitals or reference laboratories is required.
    • Strong verbal/written communication skills, with practical working knowledge of MS Office programs is required.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the daily workings of a clinical laboratory is required.
    • Some sales or service experience as a Field Application Specialist or similar position is preferred.
    • Position requires strong planning, organization, and communication skills with the ability to motivate and influence others; the proven ability to skillfully present to laboratory/hospital personnel and executives; the ability to effectively communicate technical information.
    • The availability for overnight travel in assigned territory is required.
