  • Overview

    Bio-Rad is looking for a VP of Marketing to support our Life Science Group.

    Responsibilities

    • Directly manage and lead the LSG’s Marketing Communications, Product Marketing, Pricing, Segment Marketing and Marketing Operations teams.
    • Develop and execute the Market Development plans for products and market segments that includes: situation analysis, assessment of opportunities and threats, strategic messaging and positioning, communications platforms, and tactical plan for implementation.
    • Work closely with R & D leadership to drive the product portfolio planning process for future products.
    • Coordinate and facilitate with the sales leadership team both short and long-term product sales forecasts for products pre-launch, providing key market assumptions for forecasts.
    • Collaborate with regional sales and marketing leaders to maintain and grow the Company's market share in existing markets.
    • Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all Market Development programs and activities.
    • Monitor competitive intelligence, industry trends and analysis across the Life Sciences industry and interpret/deliver the results to drive Company’s awareness and influence company response to establish and maintain market leadership.
    • Work cross functionally to identify and solve challenges and issues.
    • Manage LSG's participation in key industry conferences.
    • Participate as a member of LSG's executive team in Business Reviews, Senior Management Meetings, Executive Planning off-sites, etc.

    Qualifications

    • An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline is required; advanced degree (MBA/PhD) preferred.
    • Minimum of (10+) years in marketing leadership roles, including executive roles with broad functional scope and leadership of 20+ employees.
    • Exceptional leadership and team building skills.
    • Diverse life science product and workflow knowledge across a broad range of products, ideally including protein and cell analysis, chromatography, biomarker/ immunoassay, biomarkers, and nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) analysis and extraction .
    • Visionary strategist with a track record of successful strategic planning and implementation, showing strong sales performance because of solid strategy.
    • Experience in a high-visibility global role where judgment, tact, flexibility, and resourcefulness are required.
    • Excellent cross-functional team leadership and participation skills.
    • Creative, with ability to think “out of the box” and readily contribute.
    • Solid track record of building strong relationships.
    • Clear thinker, pragmatic approach to problem solving.
    • Excellent business judgment and strategic thinking with strong problem solving skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
