  • Overview

    Bio-Rad is looking for an Engineer III with 5 plus years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.


    • Understands OSHA PSM requirements and support development/implementation of Process Safety Information such as material of construction, P&ID's, EAC, Relief System Design basis, safety systems & interlocks, etc.
    • Conduct Process Hazard analysis and develop mitigation strategies/projects.
    • Interface with operations and staff to identify opportunities, develop projects and drive improvement.
    • Support/drive Management of Change, PSSR work processes for new equipment and changes.
    • Develop Mechanical Integrity programs and support maintenance on plant reliability programs.
    • Develop project scope documents (safety, environmental, improvement, waste elimination, etc.).
    • Develop project justification summaries and submit funding requests.
    • Drive implementation of projects and develop detailed project records/documentation.
    • Perform verification/validations for projects.
    • Develop user documents, operating instructions/procedures and equipment files.
    • Prepare/update one-line diagrams (P&ID's) for process lines, utilities, etc. with limited input from staff.
    • Perform mass and energy balance calculations, evaluate and identify opportunities for yield improvements.
    • Perform adiabatic heat calculations, cooling load and heating load calculations.
    • Coordinate and communicate with other disciplines (Design Engineers, Process Engineers/Engineering, etc.)
    • Work with vendors/contractors on quotes and project scheduling through installation.


    • Minimum of BS Chemical or Mechanical Engineer with 5 plus years of plant engineering experience.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in support of multiple projects is essential.
    • Understands work planning and scheduling to manage design process to the available hours in the work plan.
    • Leadership skills.
    • Experience with SolidWorks 16 & 17 or AutoCAD.
    • Desired skills include;
    • Project management experience.
    • Familiarity with SAP.
