    Bio-Rad has an immediate need for a Cytometry Field Application Scientist. In this role, you will be an integral member of the Sales Team providing technical expertise to customers in the field.

    Responsibilities

    • Working independently or with Sales Representatives, the Field Application Specialist calls on customer labs to provide pre and post sales technical support on our flow cytometers and associated reagents.
    • This includes performing pre-sales presentations, product demonstrations, and technical seminars for individuals and groups in response to field sales requests.
    • This role requires ‘bench work’ running cell sorters and cell analyzers.
    • The FAS is expected to excel in analysis of data, troubleshooting, and optimization for each of these technologies.
    • The FAS is often involved in experimental design, assay design, and reporting of results.
    • The position will cover Biopharma and Academic accounts in the Midwest/Southeast sales regions of the US and preferably based in the Chicago area, a major Texas City or Atlanta (other locations near a major airport in the region will be considered).
    • This position requires 40% travel time in the Midwest and Southeast region of the U.S, and other business travel as needed.

    Qualifications

    • MS in Life Sciences minimum, PhD preferred.
    • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience using Flow Cytometry, including assay design and optimization. (Immunology research background preferred)
    • Specific experience designing and performing 12 (or more) parameter experiments or small particle detection preferred.
    • Experience in the analysis of Flow Cytometry data using FlowJo and FCS Express highly desired.
    • Work experience supporting cytometry instruments and reagents may be substituted for research experience.
    • Research experience preferred.
    • Ability and willingness to teach complex principles of Cytometry to novice users.
    • Strong verbal (oral and written) and presentation skills required.
    • A combination of expert troubleshooting and interpersonal skills are the keys to success in this position.
